Application to change a registered political party’s name

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) has received an application to change the name of a registered political party in accordance with the Electoral Act 2002 (the Act).

Current name of party: Australian Sex Party - Victoria

Current abbreviation: Sex Party

Proposed name: Reason Victoria

Proposed abbreviation: Reason

The application is signed by the Secretary of the party.

Objections to the proposed change must be submitted to the VEC in writing no later than the end of the day on Monday 15 January 2018.

Written objections should consider whether the proposed name is allowable under section 47 of the Act.

Objections can be emailed or posted to the Victorian Electoral Commission, Level 11, 530 Collins Street, Melbourne Vic. 3000.

Details of any objections will be made available to the applicant.
